  • 2010/2011 Season Schedule - Ballet, Stage & Preschool Programs
  • Ballet, Stage & Preschool Program Summary

  • Ballet
  • UDC Ballet Programs are based on the Canadian Dance Teacher’s Association Syllabus. Dancers will learn classical technique as well as Lyrical styles allowing them to develop strength, flexibility, grace and overall technique that will support all styles of dance. Some classes will be given the option of taking CDTA Ballet exams. Ballet Dancers may also audition for a role in UDC’s annual Ballet Production.

  • Jazz
  • Jazz technique is accompanied by fun, energetic music, creative style and movement. It is recommended that Jazz is taken in combination with a Ballet class as Ballet is an important part of developing Jazz technique.

  • Tap
  • Dancers learn rhythm and musicality and make lots of noise! Tap classes are combined with Jazz to give young dancers a chance to try more than one dance.

  • Stage
  • The Stage program includes Jazz, Tap, Lyrical and Musical Theatre styles of Dance. Classes can be taken in combinations or on their own.

  • Lyrical
  • This style combines Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary and Modern technique. This is a challenging and expressive class.
